Tigers rout Titans, 57-7

The Wasco High Tigers opened their SSL schedule with a dominating win over the Chavez Titans on Friday night, 57-7

The Tigers scored early and often in this game, having a 27-0 lead before the end of the first quarter. The star of the show was Hammie Lopez, who had four touchdowns on the night, running for over 300 yards. Lopez ended the game with 306 yards rushing, with freshman Aiden Hulsey gaining 104 yards on the ground.

Wasco had a total of 546 yards gained for the night, making it the most productive game for the Tigers in recent history.

Wasco will try to keep their SSL record unblemished when they take on the Thunderbirds of Kennedy High School. The game will be played in Wasco and will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. Friday night.

Kennedy has been playing better lately, with a really tough nonleague schedule leading to a couple losses to begin the season.

Head Coach Chad Martinez and the Tigers are hitting on all cylinders now and have been showing a new offense that is more productive than in previous years, giving the team more options when it comes to running and passing the ball.

This Friday's contest will go a long way to determining the champions of the SSL, with both teams still having to play the other serious contender, the Shafter Generals.

The winner of Friday's game will have a big advantage for the league championship.
