Hebrews 6:19 says, ”Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast.” It’s a present hope that the Christian has. The text said [BEGIN ITAL]”which hope we have.” We have hope right now, and it’s not some cross-your-fingers-and-wishing-it-works-out. My hope is in the Lord. He is the anchor of my soul.
My hope is in Jesus Christ. In this mixed-up world that we live in, the Lord is my all-sufficiency. In Him, we live and move and have our being. "Hope is an expectation with certainty that God will do what He has said." Hebrews 11:1 says ”Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hope and faith are tied together. The Lord must be the object of our hope or all we have is a wish.
We have the hope of God’s provision. In these difficult economic times that we live in, God provides for us. Philippians 4:19 says, “My God will supply all my needs through Christ." The Bible teaches us to not worry about what we shall eat or drink or wear; the Lord knows what we have need of. I couldn’t make it in this hour without the Lord. He is my hope.
He is a living hope. Peter said we have a living hope. Because of salvation, I now have something to look forward to. This living hope that is inside us will bring us through our troubles unto eternal life in the presence of the Lord. We only have this hope because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He is my hope.
Are you abounding in hope? Romans 15:13 says, “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” Let your hope in the Lord be steadfast and strong. Abounding in hope means “to run over and have more than enough."
The Lord is my hope. I will continue to trust Him no matter what comes my way. May your faith be strong in the Lord. The Lord is my hope!
