Henry I. Blair

March 23, 1959 – June 19, 2024

Henry Isaac Blair, beloved husband, father, brother, papa, uncle, cousin and friend, passed away on June 19, 2024. He was born on March 23, 1959, in Bakersfield He was raised in Shafter, where he resided his entire life and later met the love of his life, Christina "Aguilar" Blair, at the young age of 14.

Henry dedicated 25 years of his life to Shell Oil, now known as Aera Energy, where he created lifelong friendships. His commitment and work ethic were exemplary, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.

Beyond his professional life, Henry's greatest joy came from his family and friends. He was a devoted husband to Christina, a loving father and a cherished papa to his grandchildren. His presence enriched the lives of his siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and a wide circle of friends who will deeply miss his warmth, humor, love for music and nurturing, loving heart.

Henry was preceded in death by his mother, Nicolasa Sabedra Blair, granddaughter Kayla Blair; grandparents Manuel and Blasa Sabedra, Mary and Denver Blair, in laws Jose Aguilar and Magdalena Velasquez Aguilar, niece Mona Padilla, brother in laws Steve Fuller and Ernie Cabrera, and many more that Henry held close to his heart.

Henry is survived by his wife of 48 years, Christina Blair; three children, Erica Blair and sons Henry Blair Jr. and his wife Mandy, and Nick Blair and his wife Brittney, along with his grandchildren Ethan and Chloe Hathcock, Taylor Blair, Presley Ballengee, Layla Blair and Evelynn Blair.

In addition to his immediate family, Henry leaves behind his sisters, Janet Cabrera, Dolores Ainsworth and Yolanda Sims, his cherished Aunt Lupe Velarde and a large extended family of brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss him dearly.

Henry's legacy of kindness, generosity and dedication to his loved ones will continue to inspire all who knew him. His memory will be honored during services at Basham and Lara Funeral Home, 343 State Ave., Shafter, on Friday, June 28, at 12 p.m., followed by reception at El Alacrán at 6447 Superior Road, Bakersfield, from 2-9 p.m.

Henry's passing leaves a void in the hearts of many, but his love and impact will forever be treasured and remembered.
