Serving the community since 1970
The Shafter Kiwanis Club held their final Terrific Kids luncheon of the year in Wednesday, honoring the student leaders of each of the area schools.
The Terrific Kids program recognizes students who display one of the character traits that are highlighted in their program. Those traits are Thoughtful, Enthusiastic, Responsibility, Respectful, Inclusive, Friendly, Inquisitive and Capable. Each student honored received a lunch, t-shirt, bumper sticker, and pencil.
For the final luncheon of the year, they decided to recognize the Student Councils for each school.
Student Council members from Golden Oak, Redwood, Sequoia, Richland Junior High, Grow Academy and Maple School were honored for their leadership, dedication to their fellow students, and being great examples of the program.
"We are proud to have these kids in Shafter and serve as an example for their respective schools amd the community," said Richland Superintendent Rosa Romero.
