Pastor's Corner: A Blessed Year

Happy New Year – the old year of 2023 is gone with its failures and successes. It's time to press the reset button with new resolutions, new goals,and a new start.

In the New Testament book of Philippians 3:13-14, Saint Paul says, "This one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead." So press toward the goal, reach for the prize God is calling you in Christ Jesus. God has something good, something better for you this new year of 2024.

In the Old Testament book of Jeremiah 29:11, God says he wants to give you peace; he wants to give you a bright future and a living hope. God is for you and not against you. God wants you to accomplish those dreams that you have in your heart.

In the New Testament book of Matthew 6:33, Jesus said, "Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added to you." What a beautiful promise. Let God be first, says the Holy Scripture, and everything else will fall in its place. Jesus said, "I have come that you may have life and that you may live it abundantly'' (John 10:10). Abundant life in your marriage, your family, in your health, in your finances, in your job.

So this new year 2024, start right and you will finish right. Pray, read your Bible, go to church and worship your God.

Love your family, love your neighbor, give cheerfully and you will be blessed all year long.
