Redwood Elementary School announced its Bank of America Essay Contest winners recently, giving the students a certificate and advancing them to the District competition where they will compete against other local winners.
The Redwood winners are fourth grader Alondra Chavez, fifth grade scholar Anabella Soto, and sixth grader Santiago Dominguez. These students will now compete against other winners from Kern County. Superintendent of Richland School District Rosa Romero said, "We are so proud of our scholars for their participation and for representing Redwood in such a positive way."
The contest is sponsored by the Bank of America South Sierra Valley market and Kern County Superintendent of Schools. Each school in Kern County holds a contest within their schools, choosing the students who will go on and compete against the students throughout Kern County.
Romero said that the contest really tests the students' skills in writing, expression and composition. "Good Luck to our Redwood Eagles."
