Pastor's Corner: The resurrected life

Thank God for the resurrected life. We are not what we once were, but we have been set free by the resurrection power of Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:1 says, "...and you hath he quickened who were dead in trespasses and sins." Let's look at some marks of the resurrected life in a Christian.

1st Peter 1:3 says, "We now have a lively hope by the resurrection of Christ from the dead." There is a living hope inside the Christian and it's actively alive in every situation that we may encounter. This lively hope makes us look at things through the eyes of faith and realize that God is going to take care of things. When Christ rose again he brought hope to the hopeless.

The resurrected life is a life of restoration. The Christian is simply an individual that has had their life restored by the resurrection power of Christ. Sin will crush and ruin a life, but there is hope through Jesus Christ. Forty-three years ago Jesus Christ restored my life. Sin had ruined and wrecked my life, but Jesus restored it just like you would restore a beat up old car. He offers an abundant life of peace and joy to every human being. The resurrected life is the greatest life there is.

The resurrected life is a life that is brought into a right relationship with God. Jesus died and rose again to bridge the gap between man and God. Jesus is the mediator between God and man. Jesus is the resurrection and life, and he offers eternal life to anyone who will call upon him.

Ephesians 3:20 talks about a power that works in us. It's an active and energizing power. It's the resurrection power of Jesus Christ in our lives. The Bible says, "Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world." All the strength you need to live a victorious life is in the resurrection power of Christ.
