Serving the community since 1970

A venue for any occasion

Wasco K & R Banquet Halls is a beautiful and elegant venue designed for any special occasion. It is an intimate space for weddings, birthdays, quinceaneras, anniversaries, celebrations of life, baptisms and baby showers.

"We can accommodate for any event," said Oscar Ramos, who owns the building, along with his wife, Ruth.

The building was built in the mid-1950s and used to be a Masonic Temple. In 2018, Ramos purchased and completely remodeled it, including new inside floors, walls, ceilings and carpets.

"I chose a modern and contemporary design. Everything is new," said Ramos. "We have a full commercial kitchen for our chef, Fernando Perez, to prepare a delicious menu."

"His food is amazing, and he has a lot of experience in the food industry. He can prepare Italian, Mexican, American and Indian food. He also cooks barbecue chicken, tri-tip and pulled pork," Ramos said.

Menus aren't limited, though.

"You can bring your own food, and we will serve it."

With a rental, the halls have tables draped in white, red or black linen and chairs fitted with matching seat covers. They provide napkins and silverware.

Service comes with a bartender, waiters and security. And guests do not have to set -up or clean up before and after.

"We want them to enjoy themselves without worrying about this so they can go home to rest or continue with their celebration. They don't have to do anything except enjoy their parties," said Ramos.

There are exquisite chandeliers to create a warm and welcoming ambiance.

A changing room is also available for brides and quinceaneras to dress and prepare for their festivity.

There are two halls – the Lily Room downstairs can accommodate 100 people, while the Jasmine Room upstairs is big enough for 200 people.

"I like to be at the event from beginning to closing to ensure everything runs smoothly and for customers to be more than satisfied with our service," Ramos says. "My goal is to make our guests happy and make their celebration unforgettable with our great team,

"We are all professional and on top of everything. It is important for us to meet all of our client's needs."

Ramos said he chose Wasco as a location because he wanted to create a lovely place here, so people don't have to go out of town.

"Our space is not only for Wasco; we also serve nearby cities like Delano, McFarland, Bakersfield, Shafter and Lost Hills."

In the past, Ramos has offered the facility for fundraisers to help families that have suffered a loss. Ramos provides his space at no cost for community Zumba.

Ramos said he does this because he wants to serve the city as best as he can.

"Wasco has been very kind to us, and we want to give back as a way to show our gratitude,"
