Obituary: Barbara Nell Fenton Scott

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Barbara Nell Fenton Scott, 82, of Wasco, on March 14, 2022, in her home.

Barbara was born May 27, 1939, in Shafter, to parents John and Flora Fenton. Barbara was the youngest of 13 children. On March 16, 1949, she married Doyle Wayne Scott and gave birth to and is survived by sons Darren Wayne Scott and Mark Kevin Scott. She is also survived by granddaughter Cassidy Dawn Scott, grandsons Christian Samuel Francies, (Damien) Corey Francies, and sister Mary J Browner.

Barbara was the Shafter High School newspaper editor and graduated in 1957. She was a member of the Wasco Women's Club, the Lady Elks Lodge in Wasco and attended Wasco Family Fellowship Services. She worked for 45 years at H M Holloways, loved golfing, enjoyed many friendships, trips to the coast for casino fun, Bunko games, lunches, movies and laugher. She was devoted to her family and her two puppies. She was short, strong, funny, sweet and loved to laugh. To say she will be greatly missed is an understatement.

Services will be held Friday, March 25 at 1 p.m. at the Shafter Cemetery located at 18662 Santa Fe Way. Shafter, CA 93263, (661)-746-3921, followed by a celebration of life for all family and friends at the Wasco Elks Club, 16694 Wasco Ave. Wasco, CA 93280 immediately following the ceremony.
