10 arrested in warrant sweep

During a recent sweep, 10 arrests were made for open charges, active warrants and parole violations along with 2,800 pills of suspected fentanyl.

On March 9, deputies from the Kern County Sheriff's Office, along with the Shafter Police Department, Kern County Probation Department, Kern County Sheriff's Office HIDTA Task Force and the Department of Homeland Security conducted a probation/warrant sweep within Wasco, according to a press release.

It was an ongoing investigation that resulted in the arrests.

Joel Betancourt, 32, of Wasco, was arrested for resisting arrest and on a misdemeanor warrant.

Elois Thomas, 41, of Wasco, was arrested for possession of narcotics, drug paraphernalia and on a misdemeanor warrant.

Jess Rocha, 57, of Wasco, was arrested for violation of a Post Release Community Supervision warrant and on a misdemeanor warrant.

Brian Henry, 38, of Wasco, was arrested on two felony warrants.

Issac Arrambide, 26, of Wasco, was arrested on a felony warrant.

Willie Harris, 33, of Wasco, was arrested on multiple misdemeanor warrants.

Mario Macias, 53, of Wasco, was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant.

Martin Torres, 43, of Wasco, was arrested for a violation of Post Release Community Supervision warrant.

George Morales, 26, of Wasco, was arrested on multiple misdemeanor warrants.

Anthony Arreola, age 21, of Wasco, was arrested for possession of approximately 2,800 pills of suspected fentanyl (with a street value of approximately $14,000), indicative of narcotic sales, participation in a criminal street gang, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, possession of a firearm while in possession of controlled substance and maintaining a residence for narcotics sales.
