Serving the community since 1970
Home buyers can now choose a plot in the Skye Series of Gossamer Grove.
The homes are geared toward families and couples and include the first dog park in Shafter.
Homes in the series begin in the mid $400,000 range with a variety of floor plans from 2,200 square feet to 2,500 square feet.
The series is home to the first ever dog park in the city. The park will be dedicated to military dogs and include a statue of one of the dogs as a focal point.
For kids, the series is close to the newest park in the area, the Farm Park. The park has a railroad-themed playground area with a locomotive kids can play on.
Children living in the Gossamer Grove community attend Norris District Schools.
The community has been expanding to include a large number of Bakersfield residents who are relocating to the area, either for work or the opportunity to own a home in a new community.
Rose Walthrip, who lives in the development with her husband and two children, said that the move was an easy one to make.
"I love this place and it was the best thing we have done," said Walthrip. "My kids love the schools and it will be even better once the businesses start coming out here. It is going to be an awesome community."
Walthrip is not the only one who feels this way about their new home.
"I was kind of hesitant at first, but I think that this is the best move we could have made," said Monique Sandoval, who moved to the development three years ago. "The people are so friendly, and the development has so much to offer. I can't wait until the area starts growing and gets a few more businesses in the area, but it is already a great place to live."
