Obituary: Shonti Pimentel

Shonti Jessica Pimentel passed away on Nov. 7, 2021, in Bakersfield. She was born on Aug. 3, 1976, in Wasco to Jesse and Connie Pimentel.

Shonti grew up in Shafter. She graduated from Shafter High School in 1994. After high school she attended San Joaquin Valley College in Bakersfield where she received her certificate as a medical assistant.

Shonti enjoyed cooking, running, making arts and crafts, listening to music, and being surrounded and spending time with her kids and family.

Shonti is survived by her sons Andrew Soto, Blake and Jesse Madron and daughter Serenity Madron. Her brother Christopher Pimentel and sisters, Cherise Pimentel and Yvette Torres (husband Rigo Torres). Her mother Connie Pimentel and her nieces and nephews.

Shonti was preceded in death by her father Jesse M. Pimentel.

A visitation service will be held at Basham & Lara Funeral Care, 343 State Ave., Shafter, on Friday, Nov. 19, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Burial service will be held at the Shafter Cemetery Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, at 10 a.m. A Celebration of Life for Shonti will be held at the Shafter Ford Theatre at 1101 E. Lerdo Hwy. following the burial.
