Wing 'n Wheels is back Nov. 13

The Minter Field Air Museum will be holding their annual Wings 'n Wheels event this year, after a one year hiatus due to health and safety concerns last year.

The event is the major fundraiser of the year for the museum.

"We rely on this event for a big portion of our monies throughout the year," said President Ronald Pierce. "We are so excited to be able to bring this event back to the people. It is going to be bigger and better than ever."

The event will open its gates on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 9 a.m. Hundreds of planes will be on display, from World War I to modern executive charter jets. Drone demonstrations will also be on the agenda.

In addition to the aircraft, they will have a car show at the site. This show will feature classic cars, sports cars, trucks and military vehicles. There will also be a variety of food vendors.

You will see R2-D2 from Star Wars, as well as the Rocket Man from the movie Rocketeer, and Captain America will be paying the event a visit.

Hundreds of items of military equipment will also be on display. When you are ready for a break from perusing the event, you can kick back and listen to the sounds of a 20-piece Big Band, playing and singing music from the 1940s. For the children, there will be bounce houses and a Children's Corner, complete with activities to keep the kids entertained.

Pierce said that the museum is so appreciative of the entire Shafter community, who has helped them with their dedicated support and understanding through this trying time.

"It is great to be back!" said Pierce.
