John Gordon Drescher

John Gordon Drescher was born Aug. 11, 1954 in Wasco. He passed away Aug. 30, 2020 at home surrounded by his family. He was survived by his wife Janet, daughter Melissa, son Marshall, granddaughter Cassie, father Gordon (Jill), sister Cherith Merson (James), nieces Desiree Brandon (Brad), Noelle Wilbanks, nephews Ross Merson (Kelly), Oliver Merson, Benjamin Merson (Linda) father in law Hughey Young (Adele), sister in law Norma Luna (Danny), brother in law Terry Young, niece Angie Guiles (Tim), nephews Mike Luna (Kristie), David Luna (JoHanna), and many great nieces and nephews.

John is predeceased in death by his mother, Shirley Drescher, grandparents Doris and Lee Tribble, and sister Michele Villasana.

John loved hunting and fishing with a passion, something that started as a young boy with his father and grandfather. He carried those passions on with his son, nephews, daughter and granddaughter. Many times Mike, age 8 or 9, would call “Hey John, wanna go fishing?” As a toddler he took Melissa fishing in the playpen. He took Cassie fishing when she caught her first fish. What a proud Papa when he snapped that photo. Opening day of dove season was always meeting up with Marshall, Mike, Randy or Eddie and showing up at dad’s. We lived our lives by hunting and fishing seasons.

John will be greatly missed.
