Antonio G. Reyna

Antonio G. Reyna, 83, passed away on Jan. 16, 2021 in Bakersfield. He was born on June 13, 1937 in Gregory, Texas to Severo and Andrea Reyna.

Antonio grew up in Texas and Arizona and later made his home in Wasco. He attended schools in the state of Texas.

He worked for Armstrong Nurseries in Wasco as a farm labor where he worked for 40 years.

Antonio enjoyed most of all attending gatherings with his family and friends. He was a life-long Dallas Cowboys fan and a favorite pastime of his was watching the games on Sundays. Antonio was a devout Catholic and attended St. John's Catholic Church in Wasco.

Antonio is survived by his sons, Tony, Jose and Jaime Reyna all of Shafter, and Ruben Reyna of Bakersfield; his brothers Carlos and Paula Reyna, Ramon and Letty Reyna, Juan and Rosalinda Reyna all of Wasco; Jose Reyna of Shafter, and Manuel and Pam Reyna of Bakersfield; and sisters Guadalupe Reyna Lopez of Wasco, and Maria and Jesus Sanchez of Bakersfield; his grandchildren Joey, Eilina, Alex, Adam, and Reese; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives from Arizona and Texas.

Antonio was preceded in death by his parents, Severo and Andrea Reyna, his sisters Eladia Reyna, Petra Reyna Valdez and Carmen Reyna Sandoval; and brother Eleno Reyna Sr.

A funeral service will be held at St. John's Catholic Church 1129 9th Pl, Wasco, at 10 a.m. on Jan. 29, 2021. Visitation will be held at Basham & Lara Funeral Home, 343 State, Shafter, at 5 p.m. on Jan. 28. Burial will follow the funeral at Wasco Cemetery in Wasco..
