Assistance needed in rural crimes

The Kern County Sheriff Rural Crime Investigation Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in a couple of crimes that have been committed recently in the Shafter/Wasco area.

On July 27, between the 2:30 a.m. and 3 a.m., unknown suspects stole two boxes containing two 2.5-gallon jugs of Onagar Optek Miticide (10 gallons total), and 20 one-gallon containers of Intrepid 2F Insecticide from farm storage located near Scofield and Kimberlina avenues.

On August 11, between 5 and 10 p.m., unknown suspects stripped approximately 40 feet of copper wire from an electrical control panel and pump motor located near Zachary Avenue and Merced Avenue, causing over $1,200 in property damage.
