But 7 straight losses make a challenge
A strong end game wasn't enough for the Wasco Reserves to recover from a 7-run third inning produced by the Bakersfield Train Robbers Saturday night.
The Reserves lost, 9-5 -- the seventh in a row for the inaugural season, whihc now has a record of 15-34.
But there is some good news for the team. They are out of the cellar, giving up that spot to the 5-40 California Whiptails.
The Reserves are in town Sunday night against the Train Robbers, in the Ballpark at 7 p.m., and here Monday and Tuesday against the High Desert Yardbirds, again at 7 p.m.
The team is asking for the town's support to not only root for the boys but Sunday night will feature a "Beer Batter!" The first Train Robber player to strike out will be the designated beer batter for the night and for 10 minutes we will have $1 beers!
Gates open at 6 p.m. Sunday night.
