Reserves win first game in extra innings

After outings against Bakersfield, new team is 1-4

The Wasco Reserves won their first game of their inaugural season Monday night in Bakersfield -- and it took them plenty fo time to do it.

The 2-1 victory against the Bakersfield Train Robbers at Sam Lynn Ballpark was a defensive challenge, with single runs in the fourth and fith innings keeping them tied up through the 11th.

Right fielder Stephan Sutton's single got him on base, and catcher Charlie Padilla's fielder choice brought Sutton in, after he had advanced on another single by second baseman Jordan Dicks.

Blake Garrett got the win, after a strong nine innings from G. Alvarez.

As of Tuesday night, and five outings, the Reserves stand at 1-4. They play the High Desert Yardbirds at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday night in Adelanto, and the Monterey Amberjacks back home at 7 p.m. Thursday.
