Season Greetings from American Refuse
American Refuse enjoyed celebrating the Shafter Christmas parade with everyone in the community! This year we had a packer truck and our semi-truck carrying all our families. Both vehicles had a recycling theme with many recycle, re-use items. We had asked the crowd if you could identify all the items. Here is the breakdown:
Packer truck -- Rudolph theme:
Eyeballs: re-use of cardboard
Red nose: re-use of cardboard
Antlers: re-use of cardboard
Five candy canes: re-use of cardboard
Semi-truck and trailer -- Santa theme:
Mustache: re-use of cardboard
Eyeballs: re-use of cardboard
Snowflakes: re-use of toilet paper holders
Trees: re-use of flats
3 Wreath tires made from recycled tires
2 Tire Christmas trees made from recycled tires
1 Snowman -made from recycled tires
10 bales of hay that will be used to feed livestock
6 blankets, lights, ornaments and our Santa hat that were all re-used from other parades!
We also wanted to give a BIG shutout to the community. We donated cans to haul the trash, organics, and recycling in the park. The community did a great job putting things in the right receptacles! Way to go!
