Meet Star, a sweet 5-year-old pitbull eager to find a family to call her own. She came to the Wasco Animal Shelter as a stray but quickly won over our staff. Star gets along well with dogs of all sizes. While we're unsure if she's house or crate trained, we're confident she'll adapt beautifully with a little patience. Roxy is an affectionate and friendly 3-year-old female shih tzu who recently arrived at the Wasco Animal Shelter as a stray. She's a gentle soul who gets along wonderfully with both small and large dogs, making her a great addition to any family. Though her behavior with cats is unknown, Roxy's loving nature shines through in her interactions with our staff and other pups. Roxy will be available for adoption on Wednesday, Sept. 4. Brendon, a 2–3-year-old lab/pit mix, was found as a stray but has quickly won over our hearts. This playful, gentle boy loves snuggles and gets along great with other dogs and our staff. 4 years ago: July 18, 1984 Shafter Aquatic Center was all the craze to be at in the mid 80's summertime vacation. It was .50 for 17 years and under. *Today, the Shafter Aquatic Center is under new construction. Shafter residents are anticipating the new center to come. Especially with these new heat waves of future summers. 30 years ago: July 13, 1994 Larsen Jensen, 18, of Shafter, made a new 1500-meter freestyle swim event record. His time was 14 minutes and 56.71 seconds....
