Mavis is a sweet and playful 4-5-year-old female German shepherd mix who came to the Wasco Animal Shelter as a stray and has quickly won over the hearts of the staff with her friendly nature. She gets along great with other dogs, both male and female, and is always ready to play. Mavis already knows how to sit and spin, making her a fun companion to train and bond with. The Shafter Library & Learning Center is pleased to welcome the new community services supervisor, Rebecca Bernal. The position has been redesignated from SLLC manager because in addition to leading the team at the SLLC, Bernal will be involved in planning and organizing the city's downtown events. Her first day was Sept. 23. Bernal is returning to work in Shafter after a few years with the Wonderful Company's College Prep Academy in Delano and Lost Hills. Meet Star, a sweet 5-year-old pitbull eager to find a family to call her own. She came to the Wasco Animal Shelter as a stray but quickly won over our staff. Star gets along well with dogs of all sizes. While we're unsure if she's house or crate trained, we're confident she'll adapt beautifully with a little patience. Roxy is an affectionate and friendly 3-year-old female shih tzu who recently arrived at the Wasco Animal Shelter as a stray. She's a gentle soul who gets along wonderfully with both small and large dogs, making her a great addition to any family.
